April 28th
We all felt a little helpless yesterday when the momma eagle was killed. Today we hear that they are adjusting well to their new home at the Va. Wildlife Center. As a class we wanted to do something to help. Please talk with your child to see what we have decided to do.

Sad news...
Last night I learned of some sad news. The momma eagle that we had been watching on the Eagle Cam was killed yesterday morning. I told the class this morning and we had a good discussion about what was going to happen to the 3 babies. At first it was believed that the father eagle would try to feed the babies for the next month. Later this morning it was decided they would be better off in a wildlife center. At 10 this morning we watched as the 3 babies were removed from the nest to be taken to the wildlife center. You should be very proud of the way the children handled this sad news.

SCA Reps/Alternates passed along the word about Hats On day this Friday, April 1st - We will be collecting money for the Relief Fund for Japan through Save the Children. It will be a Foolish Hat day to celebrate April Fools' Day.
WOW! We filled up the bucket for the first time last week, and have at least 1/3 of the bucket filled again. GREAT JOB! The more times we fill the bucket, the better the chances that we could win a trophy for the school and a gift card for the school. SO KEEP THOSE BOTTLE CAPS COMING!
