Year 33 here I come!

Thanks for coming out last night to meet me and see the classroom.  I have sent out the first Smilebox so if you did not get it, email me your home email and I will send it out to you this weekend.  There were a few that bounced back to me. 

A few reminders for the first day of school: 
*Do not forget your snack and  bottled water.
*We will be going outside each day and students will be running laps.  They will need to bring their tennis shoes if they wear sandels to school. 
*All students will need an assignment pad.

Invite to help set up classroom

Ok, where has the summer gone!  It can not be the second week of August!  I wanted to let everyone know that I will be setting up my classroom Aug. 22.  Many students indicated that they would like to come and help.  Parents should drop their child off at my room at 9 am and pick them up at the picnic tables infront of the school at 12 noon.  I will provide pizza and dessert.  Students should bring their own drinks.  I would like to know who to expect so please drop me an email at my school email address.  It should be fun and I can not wait to hear all about your summer!  See ya soon, Mrs. J

Baby Lee Tree

Lee Tree update

Wanted to let everyone know about the watering schedule for the Lee Tree.  I have ordered a 20 gallon bag to put around the tree.  It will slowly release water to the tree while at the same time offer a little protection.  I should have it in a week or two.  In the mean time we need to water it every chance we get.  It would be great if everyone could 2 gallons of water on it at least once a week. Once we get the bag on, we will just need to keep it filled.  Needless to say, if we get several days of rain, we can hold off on the watering.  Thanks for your help with this class project.  Check the blog for up dates throughout the summerJ

wrapping up loose ends

Just a short note to wrap up a few loose ends.  I forgot to announce at the picnic that I will be sending a $25 donation to the Va Wildlife Center from our class. This will go to help the baby eagles.  Also wanted to let you know that I will be setting up my classroom Aug. 22.  from 9-12.  Students are welcome to come and help if they like.  I will send more information closer to the time using Teacher Ease. Again, thanks for a great year.  Have a wonderful summer...we will be back before we know it!

Tomorrow we will be having a school wide balloon release to go along with our Anti Bullying Program. They are asking everyone to wear green if possible.




Wed. is our Yehakin build and it is suppose to be HOT! In light of that we will only build from 8:30-10:30ish. Please send water with your child and have them wear light colored clothing. I will be sending home a list of what parents signed up for in Tue. packets.



We are still in the kickball Tourny! Yea for us!



Auction items can be brought in starting June 13th.



Lots of info about the class picnic will be in Tues. packet along with the pizza order form. I will be buying the pizza, so make checks out to me or send cash.



Only 7 more whole days!!!!

Just a quick reminder that we will be having a chocolate fountain tomorrow.  Several students volunteered to bring in items.  Please check with your child to see if they volunteered.
Not too early to start collecting items for our end of the year auction.  Items can be brought in the last week of school.
This Sat. night is the candle light walk at Cold Harbor Battlefield.  Tours start at dark but you wll want to get there about 8 p.m.  It is free and the whole family will enjoy this event.
Please send back the Yehakin sign up forms.  Looks like we will have a good day to build....hot, but no rain:)
